After architect Jørn Utzon had left the Sydney Opera project in 1966, he resettled on the Balearic island of Mallorca and set his mind to creating Can Lis, a house completed in 1972 which he named after his wife.

The film was created during a arts residency granted by the Jørn Utzon Institute which governs the house on behalf of the Danish State to whom it was bequested by the architect.
