SAARI

Part of Finland’s highly prioritised program of improving its network of public libraries, Saari in the northern city of Oulu, was captured over a short January day.
Designed originally by architects Marjatta Jaatinen and Martti Jaatinen in 1982 as part of a cultural ensemble, it has now been modernised and invigorated exquisitely by JKMM Architects to coincide with the launch of Oulu’s status as a European capital of Culture.
